Winchester artists, Sculptor Madeline Lord and photographer Bob Hesse, will exhibit their work as part of Industrial Strength, Fountain Street Fine Art’s 2011 Summer Exhibit, its second open juried show.

The new gallery, located in a century-old factory in downtown Framingham, is a large, well-lit space that holds true to the gritty charm of its 19th Century manufacturing roots, hence the theme- INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH. Two of Hesse’s pigment prints, and Lord’s welded steel sculpture Angel were among 65 chosen from over 230 works of art submitted by artists from throughout southern New England by Juror Howard Yezerski, of Howard Yezerski Gallery, a leading contemporary art gallery in Boston and a vital member of the Boston art community since the 1980s. Much of the work chosen by the juror has a distinctly rugged intensity that directly relates to the theme of the show. A large number of pieces are abstract in nature, although many figurative works are also included. Painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, and sculpture are all represented in the show.
