Fall Workshops Begin at Wright-Locke Farm
Join the Farm this week for some early morning yoga in the 1827 Barn
The fall season is the perfect time of year to utilize Wright-Locke Farm's 1827 Barn for a variety of programs and events, including those related to fitness, like the farm's popular early morning and evening yoga sessions. The first fall class is this Friday 9/8 from 6 - 7am, making it a great way to start your day. Set to the backdrop of the fields, these classes are appropriate for all levels of yoga experience. Local instructor Brittney Burgess will guide students through a vinyasa flow emphasizing a balance of power and flexibility through the dynamic combination of breath and movement. There are a limited number of sessions this fall; please see the farm's website for more information or to sign up. Upcoming evening sessions are Tuesdays, September 19 and 26 from 6:30 - 7:30pm.
For those who are more botanically inclined, consider joining the farm later this month for its Herbalism with Fruits Workshop on Thursday, September 21 from 6:30 - 8pm. This fun and informative class hosted by herbalist and botanical educator Steph Zabel will cover an array of locally-available medicinal plants that participants will learn to use and enjoy in practical, everyday ways. Our fruit-focused workshop will feature three common plants (elderberry, rosehips, hawthorn) with in-depth discussions and tea tasting of each, information about traditional uses and healing properties, and herbal medicine-making demonstrations and hands-on preparation. Each participant will also make an herbal-infusion to take home and enjoy.
Upcoming fall workshops also include (more listings to come soon):
