Father's Day in Winchester: Five High-Rated Golf Courses

WINCHESTER, MA—Father's day is just a few short days away, and what better way to treat dad on his special day than to play 18 holes?  

Father's day is one of the biggest golf weekend of the year. Not only are many fathers hitting the course to celebrate their special day, the U.S. Open is played over Father's Day weekend. Outside of a rain delay or a playoff, the final round of the tournament is played on Father's Day. 

According to the U.S. Open website, the final round of the U.S. Open has been scheduled to take place on Father's Day since 1976. The tradition started when Jerry Pate birdied the 72nd hole at the Atlanta Athletic Club to win by two strokes on Father's Day, and the final round of the event has been scheduled that way ever since.
