UPDATED: Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Blaze at Senior Housing Facility
One person was injured in the blaze.
Firefighters fought a two-alarm at The Gables at Winchester on Wednesday morning.
One person, who is reportedly a woman in her 60s, was seriously injured in the fire. A Medflight was requested, but was unavailable because of the weather. The injured person was taken to Mass General Hospital.
Firefighters responded to the fire at about 10:30 a.m. and struck a second alarm after seeing heavy smoke when the fire responders arrived. They were able to extinguish the fire within about 15 minutes.
