The Golden Door

Winchester in Transition (WIT) 2015 Sunday, March 15, 3:00 - 5:00 PM Chidley Hall, First Congregational Church 21 Church St., Winchester

Fourth Graders in the Winchester Public Schools were treated to a performance of “The Golden Door,” a musical play about the challenges immigrants face, past and present. “The school performance is a component of this year’s Winchester In Transition programming,” says Kathy-Ann Hart, the Multicultural Network’s Executive Director. “We were excited to bring this play to fourth graders; immigration is part of the curriculum, and teachers were provided with curriculum materials to enhance the students’ understanding of the themes brought forward in the play.”

“The Golden Door” was performed by In Good Company, a group that presents original musical theater productions inspired by history and presents them to schools in the greater Boston area. A full production of “The Golden Door” will be presented on Sunday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m. in Chidley Hall at the First Congregational Church, as part of the Winchester Multicultural Network’s Winchester in Transition (WIT) programming. The performance is free and all are welcome.
