Historic Carter Mansion For Sale

The meticulously renovated Carter Mansion is one of Reading's most distinctive residences.

Built in 1802 by Daniel Chute, 89 Woburn Street was originally a Federal style home. Chute was one of the first shoe manufacturers in Reading and owned most of the land that makes up Woburn Street. The property eventually changed hands to Samuel Carter, who was in the express business sending goods, mail and stage coaches to Boston. His son, William, extensively renovated the property and engraved the Carter name on the stairs.

Today, the historic Carter Mansion has all new systems, numerous updates and amenities. It offers the opportunity to live in a contemporary environment while enjoying the special character of a historic home.

This home is listed by Laura McCaughey and Catherine Albiani of Waterfield Sotheby’s International Realty. Please contact them with any questions.
