WINCHESTER, MA—The Winchester Police Department will be under new leadership as of July 1, Town Manager Richard Howard told Patch.Lt. Peter MacDonnell has been named as the successor to chief Kenneth Albertelli, who is retiring after 40 years on the force. Albertelli will be stepping down at the end of June, and MacDonnell will assume the role on July 1.MacDonnell is a Winchester native and a graduate of Winchester High School's class of 1978, Howard confirmed with Patch.
