Letter to the Editor: Help Out the DPW

This letter is from Winchester resident, Sarah Girotti.

Sixty-seven inches of snow. One hundred miles of road, and almost that number of miles in sidewalks. Our DPW employees have been working around the clock to plow, sand, salt, shovel, and haul away, and I'd like to thank them for all of their efforts.  While there is still work to be done, this speaks more to a smaller DPW staff than it does to the job the remaining employees are doing.

I urge my fellow citizens to do your part by clearing their sidewalks in front of your homes to ensure safe passage for school children, commuters, our seniors and others.  If you're able, help a neighbor. Together we'll get through the great storms of '11 and look forward to the summer ahead!
