Michael Day Thanks Voters For Election Win
With 71 percent of Winchester voters casting ballots, Day gets 61 percent of the vote.

Michael Day won re-election to the State House Tuesday, and after the polls closed released a statement.
"I want to thank the voters of Stoneham and Winchester. This campaign was focused on moving our community forward and rejecting the recent trend of the politics of destruction. I am obviously very pleased with the results, which are a statement of this district’s values. I will work hard every day in the coming term to honor this vote and to work with all members of our community to continue to move Stoneham, Winchester and Massachusetts forward."
As for the numbers, in Stoneham Day received 6,209 votes to 4,411 for Caroline Colarusso. In Winchester, Day received 6,658 votes to Colarusso's 3,740 votes. In total, Day received 61 percent of the vote.

Winchester voters turned out in impressive numbers Tuesday with more than 71 percent heading to the polls. In total, 11,166 voted out of 15,648 registered voters.
For most of the issues and candidates on the ballot, Winchester agreed with its neighbors.

In the ballot questions, Winchester voted No on Question 1 (nursing) with 8,655 saying No, to just 2,072 voting yes. On Question 3 (transgender) 6,878 voted Yes to 2,669 voting No.
