Mystic Valley Parkway Fire Causes $15k in Damage

Firefighters responded to a fire on Mystic Valley Parkway in Winchester Friday morning.

WINCHESTER, MA—A fire which began on the porch of 193 Mystic Valley Parkway caused $15,000 in damage to a home Friday morning, according to Winchester Fire Chief John Nash.

Nash told Patch that the fire was reported at approximately 6:11 a.m. Firefighters found a man attempting to use a garden hose to put out the fire on his back porch, according to Nash.

Firefighters promptly extinguished the exterior fire, which had extended from the porch beyond the roofline, later removing roofing materials and sidewalls to extinguish the fire that had extended to the interior.
