Opening Game for Winchester Postponed
The Sachems will open play against Medford in the 13-year-old Babe Ruth State Tournament on Saturday.
Due to the heavy rain that steadily fell on Massachusetts Friday afternoon and into the evening, the Winchester 13-year-old baseball team will have to wait another day before beginning play in the Babe Ruth State Tournament.
The Sachems, winners of District 2, will play Medford Saturday night at Adams Field in Quincy, at 5 p.m. Medford defeated Wakefield 5-2 in its opening game on Thursday. Winchester will continue the tournament on Sunday when it will play against District 1 winner Wakefield at 5 p.m.
Winchester will play its Friday opponent - Tri Town - Monday at 5:30 p.m.

The second division or National Division consists of Norwood, Taunton, Plymouth and Quincy. The two divisions play amongst each other in a pool play format. The top two teams then qualify for the single elimination Championship Round.
The semifinals will be played Tuesday with the first game starting at 5:30 p.m. and the second commencing at 8 p.m. The Championship game will be played on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
