PHOTO GALLERY: 'Girl's Night Out' at Katana Salon and Spa

The Katana Salon and Spa celebrated the renovation and expansion of their 618 Main Street store on Tuesday night with a "Girl's Night Out" hair-styling party.

With cosmopolitans and chocolate strawberries in abundance, more than four dozen Winchester residents filled in recently to celebrate Katana's newly renovated and expanded space.

Private styling lessons were issued by co-owner and operator of the Salon, Kathy Auciello, with Spa treatment run-downs given by Katana's other Co-Owner and Operator of the Spa, Alana Ricca. The hosts were joined by Manager, Katie Gentile, Aesthetistician, Lisa Benabou and Katana's stylists who mingled and talked tips on hair treatment.

“We want to celebrate our clients,” Auciello said. “Break in the near salon and spa, be more casual, meet some new people and have a fun time.”

Auciello led the evening with a demonstration on the latest hair styling trends including anti-dent curling, quick and simple blow-drying techniques, brushing and shaping, and how to freshen dirty hair without washing.

“Being from Medford, you can't forget the importance of hairspray,” joked Auciello during the demo.
