Police Log: Drunk Driver, Package Stolen and Syringe Found

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 12, 12:24 a.m. – An Ardley Road resident noticed someone going through her car late Monday night. The suspect ran off, and police did not locate anyone in the area. The resident had a changeholder and some CD’s stolen. 

7:32 p.m. – A Samoset Road had his unlocked vehicle entered. Stolen was a red LL Bean multi-tool ($35).

Wednesday, Dec. 14, 3:30 p.m. – While walking along Wildwood Street, a Salisbury Street boy found a syringe on the side of the road. The boy’s mother called police and it was disposed of.

6:09 p.m. – A Wildwood Street resident told police that UPS had delivered a package at her home at noon, her daughter saw it on the front steps. By the time the woman came home at 5:30 p.m. it was gone.

Thursday, Dec. 15, 11:57 a.m. – Nicholas Pellegrino, 24, of Elmwood Avenue was arrested for three outstanding warrants issued from the Concord District Court for violating a restraining order.

Friday, Dec. 16, 12:55 a.m. – Winchester Police responded to the First Congregational Church for an alarm. Upon arrival, they noticed one of the doors was left open. They saw a Bonad Road man asleep on the couch.

The man told police that he was waiting for his friend who has choir practice, but he must have fallen asleep on the couch. The man’s friend came and picked him up.

 

9:33 p.m. – Jose Moacir Szpaci, 57, 365 Faneuil St, Brighton, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, after Szpaci nearly caused an accident by driving off the road at Quill Rotary.

11:15 p.m. – A Boston man travelling on Highland Avenue was driving when his car went off the road and crashed into a tree along Highland Avenue. The man told police that a car had swerved into his line forcing him to go off the road and crash into the tree.

Sunday, Dec. 18, 10:40 a.m. – An Auburn man parked his car along Ablesworth Avenue. The man told police that someone had smashed the windshield on his passenger side.
