Police Log: Shopper Kicked Out and Security Guard Bitten

Thursday, May 26, 11:10 a.m. – A Medford resident entered Stop and Shop and began threatening employees, telling them not to turn their backs on him, “or else.” According to the store’s manager, the man was upset because a taxi the store had called for him was running late. Winchester Police informed the man that they would no longer like him to shop at the store.

Saturday, May 28, 2:06 p.m. – While waiting for an x-ray to be conducted at Winchester Hospital, a Row Hill Road resident decided she no longer wanted to wait. The hospital staff couldn’t allow her to leave, as she was not cleared to drive.

The woman became violent and needed to be restrained by security guards. During the struggle, she bit one of the men. The security officer told police he did not wish to press charges.

The hospital staff informed Winchester Police that the woman was sent to New England Medical Center for further treatment.

Saturday, May 28, 8:15 p.m. – A Baldwin Street resident received a call from a man recently who said that he was collecting money for the armed forces and was looking for a donation. The woman agreed to give him $20, which she left in her mailbox. The next day, the money was gone.

After speaking with her friends, the woman told police that she believes this was a scam. She called her bank to stop payment on the check.

8:33 p.m. – Winchester Police were called to Cambridge Street for a domestic dispute.

Sunday, May 29, 9:34 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident parked his bike along Blossom Hill Road, but when he returned it had been stolen.
