Police Log: Stolen Car Found and Child Struck by Car
This is an excerpt from the Winchester Police Log from Monday, October 4 to Wednesday, October 6.

Wednesday, October 6, 5:04 a.m. – Winchester Police received a call from a number of concerned citizens about a car on the side of the road along Mystic Valley Parkway. People called to report that there was a crash and the person was walking away from the accident.
When police arrived they saw the car, a Nissan Maxima, but found no one else around the scene. When they spoke to the owner of the vehicle, a Cambridge Street resident, he informed the officer that he had not used the car. He told the officer that he had left the car at the end of his driveway with the doors unlocked and the key in the console, so his mother could take the car. That was on Tuesday night; he had not seen the car since.
Police then had the man fill out a stolen car report. The car sustained damage underneath and on the rear wheels.

2:52 p.m. – Winchester Police responded to the corner of Main Street and Canal Road where a child was pinned against a pole by a car. The 14-year-old Salem, New Hampshire boy was taken to Winchester Hospital because of chest pains. According to the officer, he had a red line across his chest.
The woman stated that she was backing into a parking space and as she was doing that, her son jumped out of the car and the right, rear door pinned him against the pole. The boy never lost consciousness and the pain from his chest where the door hit him was his only complaint.
