Police Log: Threatening Texts and Winchester Man Arrested

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, March 4, 12:29 p.m. – A 12-year-old Stone Avenue girl received a suspicious text from an unknown number that read “I am gonna get you kid.” She showed it to her mother who called the police.

The number belonged to a 19-year-old Winchester teen. When police spoke to the boy he said he was trying to reach his friend. According to the mother, his friend was her nephew who had stayed at their house recently and used that phone.

Tuesday, March 13, 11:29 a.m. – A Horn Pond Brook Road resident told police that someone threw two eggs at his car.

Wednesday, March 14, 11:52 a.m. – A few street signs in Winchester were spay painted. The field house at McDonald Field was also painted with spray paint.

Thursday, March 15, 5:54 a.m. – While driving along Palmer Street near Wildwood, a Wilmington woman told police she didn’t see a Bates Road man riding his bicycle until it was to late. She hit the man with her car when she turned on to Palmer. The man was uninjured.

11:37 p.m. – Jon Delaney, 29, of Salem Street in Winchester, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
