Police Log: Tree Falls on House and Verizon Picketers Causing Problems

Friday, August 12, 6:40 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident informed Police that his scooter was broken and moved out of its original parking spot. The man blamed his neighbor, who had since parked his motorcycle in that spot.
Saturday, August 13, 12:21 p.m. – A Swanton Street resident was pulled over along Lockeland Road and Ridge Street for having an expired registration sticker and for being uninsured.
Monday, August 15, 8:15 a.m. – While picketing along Main Street, Verizon workers claimed that one of the employees leaving the store struck one of the picketers. The driver denied hitting anyone and shortly after, the worker said that she wasn’t hit.

The driver told police that one of the picketers jumped on the hood of his car while he was trying to leave.
8:26 p.m. – A Ravine Road resident had a large tree collapse on two of his cars and doing minor damage to the roof of his vehicle on Monday night.

According to the homeowner, he was going to take a shower when he heard a loud noise, which he thought was thunder. When he went outside he found out that a tree had fallen on two cars in the driveway and hit his house.
