Police Log: Winchester Girl Hears Break-in and Bicyclist Hit By Car

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Nov. 2, 12:06 p.m. – A Spruce Street resident told police that sometime over the last three days, someone broke into his garage and stole his generator.

5:32 p.m. – A Kerwin Road resident had left her house to pick up her son. The woman’s daughter was upstairs when the house alarm started going off.

The daughter told police that she heard someone open the side door. She hid upstairs for a few minutes before running to a neighbor’s house. Winchester Police searched the area for suspects but did not find anybody.

Friday, Nov. 4, 5 p.m. – A former Winchester resident told police that she owes NSTAR $800 and $900 to National Grid. The woman said she never had accounts with either company.

Sunday, Nov. 6, 3:29 p.m. – A Winchester resident was riding his bike along Johnson Road when he saw a car pull up at the stop sign of Westland Avenue. The driver, from Newton, told police she saw the bicyclist but thought she had enough time to negotiate the turn.

The Winchester bicyclist struck the hood of the car and flipped over the vehicle. He told police he had minor pain in his head and wrists from the collision. Te driver was issued a citation.

Monday, Nov. 7, 8:04 a.m. – Keystone Battery on Holton Street was broken into over the weekend. Someone forced the door open and stole $300 from the cash drawer.

3:09 p.m. – A Stoneham resident had the passenger side window of her car broken with a rock, while parked along Willowdale Road. Her bag with $40 was stolen from the car.

Tuesday, Nov. 8, 9:55 a.m. – A Penske truck, driven by a Woburn man struck the bottom of the railroad bridge. The driver was uninjured, but the top of the truck was destroyed.
