Police Log: Winchester Teens Cited for Underage Drinking

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Feb. 9, 2:21 p.m. – The financial controller of Gefran Inc., informed police that someone is conducting a scam using fake checks written from Gefran.

According to the controller, he has received from calls from people who received checks from Gefran that asked them to deposit it and they can keep a percentage of those checks. The company informed Citizens Bank of the scam.

7:11 p.m. – A Medford woman was pulled over along Highland Avenue because her headlight was out.

She was given a citation because her license had been suspended for illegally using a handicap placard.

Saturday, Feb. 11, 10:14 p.m. – A Winchester teenager was pulled over along Cross Street for driving erratically. There were three other Winchester teens in the car. Police found 28 cans of Miller Liter, three bottles of beer, one bottle of gin, two bottles of vodka and other bottles of alcohol.

The driver was cited for driving with open containers of alcohol.

7:42 p.m. – Winchester Police responded to Highland Avenue to dispose of a sick possum.

10:24 p.m. – Winchester Police responded to Irving Street for a domestic dispute.

Sunday, 5:47 p.m. – An Arthur Street boy told police that his HARO BMX bike was stolen from the high school.
