Temple Grandin film screening
Celebrate Autism Awareness Month by watching "Temple Grandin!"
On April 21, the Winchester Public Library will be showing the movie "Temple Grandin." This screening, held at 6:30 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room at the WPL, is free and open to the public. The film is a semi-autobiographical work based on the life of autistic rights advocate Temple Grandin. Collage artist and Winchester resident John Williams, an adult living with autism, will introduce the film; his collage pieces will also be on display in the library.
Autism is a developmental disability which affects language and communication, sensory processing, motor skills, cognition, and social interaction.
Light it Up Blue and Autism Awareness Month events are co-sponsored by Brio Integrated Theatre, and organization dedicated to creating a space where all needs and abilities are met in the creative arts, the Disability Access Commission, and the Winchester Multicultural Network.
