The driver of the truck told police that he had turned his wheels in the proper direction and utilized chock blocks to keep the vehicle in place. Groux stated that at this time, the cause of the crash is being categorized as an equipment malfunction.
Peabody-based A-1 Restaurant Traders, the owner of the vehicle, was cited for defective equipment. All of the truck's paperwork was intact, according to Groux.
