Volunteers Needed for Cal Ripken World Series
There are more than 500 volunteer slots for the Cal Ripken 12-Year-Old World Series in Winchester.
Nutile Field is being readied for its time in the spotlight! Crews have been working for weeks now to prepare the Winchester baseball field on Wildwood Street for the Cal Ripken 12-Year-Old World Series.
In addition to laying new sod and many other enhancements on the field, workers have been busy putting up tents for concessions and souvenirs, and installing temporary stands for the thousands of expected fans.
Teams from all over the country will begin arriving today and will head to Nutile Field Wednesday for team pictures and a skills competition during the day, and then a fun-filled opening ceremony that night.
