WCMS's 2015-2016 "Back-to-Back" concert series showcases award-winning faculty, guest artists, and advanced students in back-to-back 45-minute performances. On March 12, the series will continue with faculty member John Kramer (music director at the Winchester Unitarian Society) performing the remarkable "The People United Will Never Be Defeated," 36 variations on a Chilean song of revolution. This is a wide-ranging, compelling work in which the pianist must whistle, sing, and more! For the second part of the evening, get ready to rock as Mike Verge, guitarist and vocalist, presents a collaborative tribute to the Rolling Stones. The program will feature WCMS students, faculty, and special guests, including our String Sinfonietta and a brass section, performing music from the Stones' legendary songbook. These family-friendly concerts are free, and an informal reception with refreshments will follow. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Winchester.
