WHS Fashion Show - Everything Old Is New Again

Everything Old is New Again

Over the past five months,
the students of the Winchester High School Art Department have been working on
a department fundraiser. Two seniors, Amalia Brennan and Jeneane Desilets are
the directors of the event and Jennifer Levatino is the faculty advisor.
Together they have collaborated on creating “Everything Old is New Again”, an
event which features student-made garments from unconventional
materials.

This is the second fashion
show that the high school has orchestrated as an art fundraiser. Last year, “Alice
in Fashionland”, based off of the novel Alice
in Wonderland
by Lewis Carol, was a huge success. The looks were inspired
by the characters in the book and the event received many outside donations.
This year the fashion show is based off of the unconventional challenges on the
television show Project Runway. Students
will repurpose old materials to make a whole new creation.

The evening will encompass
student artwork, raffles and more. The students have been working very hard on
their garments and look forward to exhibiting their work. The show is
Thursday April 10th at 7 PM in the Winchester High School
Auditorium. The doors will be open at 6:30 PM and tickets ($10.00/$5.00 for
students) can be purchased at the door, in advance at BookEnds, or send an
email to 2014whsfashionshow@gmail.com to
reserve a ticket. Donations to support the Winchester High School Art
Department will be gladly accepted!
