The Winchester boys' basketball team earned the No. 6 seed in the MIAA Division 2 North tournament and will host Marblehead in a first round game Tuesday. The MIAA basketball tournament brackets were announced Friday.
The Sachems finished the regular season 14-6 and will face a Marblehead team that went 12-8 and earned the No. 11 seed. Should Winchester win, the Sachems will play the winner of the North Andover vs. Salem first-round game in the quarterfinals.
The top five seeds in the North are: 1. Beverly (15-5); 2. Arlington (15-5); 3. North Andover (15-5); 4. Belmont (15-5); and 5. Masconomet (15-5).

Winchester finished 13-9 last winter after going 12-8 in the regular season and 1-1 in the tournament.
