Sheary was born in Winchester, but grew up in Melrose, and his family still resides in the city. Sheary notched two goals and one assist during the Stanley Cup Finals, assisting defenseman Kris Letang on the go-ahead goal which would eventually ice both the game and the series. Sheary also scored the game-winning goal in overtime of Game 2. Sheary played his collegiate hockey at <a href="http://www.umassathletics.com/sports/m-hockey/mtt/conor_sheary_712072.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">University of Massachusetts at Amherst</a>, and attended Cushing Academy in Ashburnham.
