Winchester Bread Shop Closes its Doors

The shop closed its doors after six years in business.

WINCHESTER, MA — A local Winchester business closed its doors on July 30 after six years in business.

Piantedosi Bread Shoppe, located at 11 Thompson Street,announced Saturday that it would be closing its doors on July 31 after six years in business. The bakery announced that it would remain at the Winchester Farmers Market on Saturdays through the summer, as well as at its parent baking company in Malden.

"Remember supporting small business matters and is an investment in our community," The announcement on its Facebook page read."The small business owners in our town are some of the hardest working, most dedicated professionals we have ever met. It was both a pleasure and a privilege working alongside them. Go out and support your local businesses!"

The announcement also indicated that the 11 Thompson Street location will be taken over by "A Fuller Cup," owned an operated by Laura Fuller. An opening date for the new business has not been announced.

"She is a smart, innovative and progressive entrepreneur who will be a wonderful addition to the Winchester small business community," the announcement read.
