Winchester Cooperative Theatre to Perform 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'
Fourth, fifth and sixth graders will star in the musical this weekend.
Singing, Dancing and a “flying car” is coming to Winchester courtesy of Winchester Cooperative Theatre.
Fourth, fifth and sixth graders will perform in the musical “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” in five separate performances this week.
“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” is based on the novel by Ian Flemming. It’s about an inventor who builds a magic car and takes his children on a series of adventures through worlds of candy factories and castles.

Winchester Cooperative Theatre described the play a “truly scrumptious” experience for the entire family.
Tryouts for the play were in December and the cast has been rehearsing since January, said Courtney Stewart, publicity coordinator of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”

”They’ve been rehearsing about 3 days a week with several hours of rehearsal after school,” she said.
Cathy Alexander is directing and producing the play.
Catch the performance at McCall Middle School Auditorium, 458 Main St. There will be five performances in a three-day span:
- Friday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m.
- Saturday March 28 at 4 p.m.
- Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m.
- Sunday, March 29 at 4 p.m.
