Winchester Girls' Hockey Silences Canton, Boys Set for Wednesday Showdown
The Winchester Girls Hockey shut down No. 25 Canton in the tournament opener.

WINCHESTER, MA—The Winchester High School Girls' Ice Hockey team was victorious in their opening game of the MIAA Girls Division 2 tournament.
The Sachems shut down Canton High School by a 2-0 score at O'Brien Rink in Woburn. They are set to play the winner of Wednesday Night's contest between Notre Dame Academy and Mansfield/OA/Foxboro on Saturday at 12:50 p.m. at O'Brien Rink.
Winchester is the No. 8 seed, and a victory in the next round may lead to a meeting with No. 1 seed Methuen/Tewksbury. According to a report by Wicked Local Winchester, the Sachems out-shot Canton 35-10.

The Male Sachems are set to play No. 12 Medford Wednesday Night at 8 p.m. at Arlington. The Boys' team is the No. 3 seed in the tournament, and a victory will pit them against the winner of Wednesday's game between Woburn and Arlington Catholic.
