Winchester Granted Additional $265K Transportation Funding

The Town of Winchester is expected to receive an additional $265,180 in transportation aid funding.

Winchester’s Chapter 90 local transportation aid funding was increased from $530,359 to $795,539 for the 2015 fiscal year, Gov. Charles D. Baker reports.

Last year, the Legislature approved the funding of an additional $100 million to towns across the state through the Chapter 90 local transportation aid funding. The funding increased from $200 million to $300 million, according to a press release.

These funds will create jobs, improve public safety and jumpstart economic growth, the release reports.

The amount of funding Winchester received was determined based on population, road miles and employment.
