Winchester Has Seventh Highest Median Income in State

Winchester was recently listed among the the communities in Massachusetts with the highest median income. 

The list, posted on Boston.com this week, puts Winchester as the seventh wealthiest town in the state in terms of median household income, citing a 2009 median income of $157,878.

That number marked a $15,000 increase from the 1999 median income of $142,192. Twenty years earlier, the median income in Winchester was listed as $129,561, and in 1979, it was $97,7627.

The 30-year change in Winchester, according to Boston.com, was 61.5 percent.
