Winchester High School Students to Perform 'Boeing, Boeing'

The high school play begins tonight and will run through Saturday.

It’s that time of the year again – the play is getting ready for its annual production.

This year’s show – Boeing, Boeing – is a farce about a guy who lives in Paris and dates three different flight attendants. The play takes place in one day, when all three of the attendants are in town at the same day.

“This has been a big challenge,” said Winchester senior and co-director, Jenna DiTullio of directing. “You know it’s not going to be easy, but I’ve been in plays before, so that helped.”

The show starts this Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and there will be two more shows on Friday and Saturday, also at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased at the door.

But fo DiTullio, being a student director is a unique experience.

“Directing is a lot different than performing,” DiTullio said. “When you perform you just worry about yourself and your own lines, now [the actors] are like my babies. I wish I can shout out their lines.”

But after performing for the past three years, being a co-director is a unique experience for the DiTullio and her co-director Carol Alexander.

“It’s hard to tell your friends what to do some time,” Alexander said. “But it’s amazing to see how much the show has advanced since Day 1.”

But there’s still going to be those pre-show jitters.

“I’m a little nervous,” Alexander said. “They always come with the show; they’re always necessary.”
