Winchester Hoops Coaches to be Honored for Raising Cancer Awareness
Jason Cacciapuoti and John Fleming will receive an award from the American Cancer Society for their volunteer service.
Jason Cacciapuoti and John Fleming, basketball coaches at Winchester High School, will be honored for their work with the American Cancer Society, according to an announcement.
Cacciapuoti, coach of the Sachems’ girls team, and Fleming, coach of the boys squad, will receive the Sandra C. Labaree Award for outstanding volunteer service.
According to the American Cancer Society, the award “recognizes and honors the volunteers whose actions and service in the fight against cancer most exemplify the American Cancer Society’s organizational values.” Cacciapuoti’s and Fleming’s teams have participated in the American Cancer Society’s “Coaches vs. Cancer” initiative for the past five years.

Both coaches will receive the awards from ESPN at the annual American Cancer Society Tipoff Madness on October 1. The event will be held at the Revere Hotel in Boston.
