The Sachems lacrosse team controlled the game, defeating the Marauders, 7-1.

After coming off its toughest stretch of the season, the Winchester boy's lacrosse team played its first home game. The Sachems jumped out to an early two-goal lead thanks to goals by Alex Kohn, Ryan McGoff and Brendan Kelley, as Winchester (4-4) defeated Belmont 7-1, Tuesday afternoon at Skillings Field.

The Marauders were able to get on the board in the first period after a goal by Paul Curran, but were unable to keep up with Winchester's offense.

"This team has toughness and constancy," said Winchester Coach John Pirani. "We've been through a real tough patch, but now we're back home. We're only five weeks in, and we can definitely get better."
