Winchester Lacrosse Players Capture Tournament Title
The Winchester team won the NESLL lacrosse tournament.

The Wolfgang Lacrosse under-11 team won five straight games including two playoff games this past Sunday in Marlboro to capture the NESLL (New England Select Lacrosse League) Holiday Tournament championship.
It was a total team effort as every member of the squad recorded at least one goal and one assist during the tournament.

The day started off with a hard fought loss to a strong team from Hopkinton, 5-4, despite goals from Charlie Ward, Sam Peacock and Collin Bergstrom.
The team regrouped and defeated Beverly by a wide margin.

Next up was the NESLL Select Crimson team. Jack Carpini recorded a shutout in net for Wolfgang, with scoring by a variety of Wolfgang players, including Michael Bongiorno and Andrew Murray in the 10-0 victory.
The final regular tournament contest was against a regional team from the Norwood area.
Wolfgang scored their third straight convincing win of the day with a 10-1 victory and secured a No. 2 seed in the playoffs, with goals from Jack Donlon, Tommy Degnan, Joey Charchaflian, Harry Carpini and others.
The first playoff tilt was against the NESLL select team which refused to give any ground this time during the very physical contest.
Goals by Cason Stone and Michael Walsh helped to seal the 3-2 nail-biter, setting up a finale against Hopkinton for the championship.
In the final, Wolfgang took a quick 4-0 lead before Hopkinton stormed back with 3 straight goals. After a physical back and forth battle, Wolfgang regained controlled and put Hopkinton away for good thanks to great defense and timely scoring, winning the contest 9-5.
