Winchester, MA Resident Named Early Achievement Award Winner by the Institute of Navigation

Dr. Pau Closas Receives Early Achievement Award from Institute of Navigation

Pau Closas, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University’s College of Engineering, received an Early Achievement Award from the Institute of Navigation earlier this year.

Designed to recognize an individual who is at a beginning stage in his or her career, the Early Achievement Award highlights the recipient’s contribution to the art and science of navigation. The Institute of Navigation is a premier nonprofit organization committed to advancing the arts and sciences of positioning, navigation, and timing.

At Northeastern, Dr. Closas is researching on advanced positioning systems with improved precision, reliability, availability, and security. The ultimate goal of Dr. Closas’s research is to enable anywhere/anytime positioning, even in indoor or challenged environments.

A Winchester resident, Dr. Closas joined the faculty at Northeastern in January of this year and focuses his research on statistical signal processing, developing new theory and methods for positioning systems.
