Winchester Native to Swear In as Middlesex State Representative

Michael S. Day will be sworn in during a public ceremony at the State House in January.

A Winchester native will be sworn in as State Representative of the 31st Middlesex District during a public ceremony in the beginning of January.

Michael S. Day will be sworn in on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at the State House, 24 Beacon St. in Boston.

“I am excited to serve the residents of Stoneham and Winchester and to bring their voice to the State House,” Day said in a press release. “This is the beginning of an exciting journey, and I am eager to begin working with my new colleagues in the Legislature to move our communities forward.”

Once Day assumes office, he will fill the vacant Representative seat. Representative Jason Lewis vacated the seat in April when he won a special election for the State Senate.

Day was born in Winchester and now lives in Stoneham with his wife Megan and their three sons Conor, Ryan and Finnegan.

He will be assigned to temporary office space, Room 547 at the Senate House, until he is appointed to a standing committee in the House of Representatives.
