When I think of the state of Maine, I think of the picturesque coastline, sturdy lobster boats, lovely villages, blue collar towns, pristine lakes and miles and miles of pine forests. Maine’s citizens are rugged, talented and independent. The books on this list have one thing in common – they are all set in Maine. These are stories of man/woman against nature, family sagas and life in small towns. The plots are full of Intriguing, tragic relationships, and mysterious events. As the weather grows cooler and the days get shorter, it’s time to go “Down-East” to Maine.
