UPDATE: Winchester Girl Assaulted by Man

The investigating an indecent assault that occurred at 2:01 p.m. Wednesday afternoon on the corner of Grove Street and Canterbury Road.

A 12-year-old Winchester girl was attacked from behind by a dark-skinned Asian man, who is believed to be in his 20s. The suspect is 6-1 with a crew cut. He was wearing a baseball cap, a grey hoodie, which was unzipped and red sweat pants.

According to Winchester Police, the man jogged past the victim. He then tried to pull the girl’s shorts down. The victim fell to the ground trying to prevent the suspect from pulling her shorts down.

A driver saw the incident and pulled over to try and help.

The suspect got away and jogged toward Sussex Street.

Winchester Police have been in the area Thursday morning passing showing residents the sketch of the suspect.
