Winchester residents graduate from The Rivers School in Weston
Seven Winchester residents were among 90 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 12.
WESTON, MA—Seven Winchester residents were among 90 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 12.
Thomas S. Corcoran was an entrepreneurial member of the Rivers community and took full advantage of Rivers’ many innovative courses. His interest in technology led to his taking the Computer Science course and has since led to him to develop his own app which is available on the App Store. Tom was also a four-year member of the varsity alpine skiing team, helping lead them to three consecutive NEPSAC Championships and earned himself All-New England recognition as a senior. The son of Dan and Ann Corcoran, he will attend Boston University in the fall.
Gabriella L. Eberth was a high honor roll student who balanced a rigorous academic load with a demanding figure skating commitment away from Rivers at the Skating Club of Boston. At Rivers, Bella was a member of Red Key, which offers campus tours to prospective families, and received the Tozzer Tennis Award in 2014. The daughter of Franz and Linda Eberth, she will attend Boston University in the fall.

Antonia L. Eidmann was a high honor roll student who balanced the rigorous Conservatory program with her role on the varsity girls’ soccer team. An accomplished viola player, she has been recognized at the district and state levels and is a member of the prestigious New England Conservatory. On the soccer field, she helped the varsity team to ISL and NEPSAC championships. The daughter of Michael and Christine Eidmann, she will attend Carleton College in the fall.
Dozier L. Gardner was an honor roll student who was a four-year member of the varsity football team. D.J. participated in the Summer in Spain immersion trip prior to his senior year and has spent several years volunteering at the Edith Nourse Rogers VA Hospital in Bedford. At Rivers, he has been a dedicated member of the Foreign Affairs and Investment Clubs. The son of Dozier and Elise Gardner, he will attend Ithaca College in the fall.

Joseph G. McCartney, a high honor roll student, was elected to the Cum Laude Society at Prize Day on June 11. With a strong interest in business and entrepreneurial opportunities, Joe held a business internship as an analyst at Audax Group last summer, where he was commended for his maturity and insight. He also was vice-president of the school’s Debate Team this year. He has been a strong contributor to Rivers’ athletic program at the junior varsity level, captaining the lacrosse team this year after four years on the team, and playing soccer and basketball as an underclassman. The son of Dan and Angela McCartney, he will attend Boston College in the fall.
Alexa T. Sisitzky, a high honors student, was a talented singer and actor who was a member of the Women’s Chorus as well as the school’s a capella group, Riverberations. She also performed in the fall dramatic productions and the winter musicals each year. Lexi was a member of the track team for four years and served as captain as a senior. She was also committed to community service, volunteering at a summer camp program as well as at the local Cradle to Crayons. The daughter of Brian and Laura Sisitzky, she will attend Skidmore College in the fall.
Cole R. Turissini, a high honor roll student who received the Mathematics Prize at Prize Day, was a valued teaching assistant in Middle School math classes this year. He was a talented and dedicated soccer player for four years, serving as captain of the varsity team his senior year and receiving the team’s 2013 Achievement Award. Cole was a member of the ski and tennis teams as well as the Debate Team, and participated in a Rivers service trip to New Orleans as a junior. The son of Carl and Sharon Turissini, he will attend Colby College in the fall.
