Current longtime town counsel Wade Welch is stepping down at the end of the month.

Winchester, MA — A Boston-based law firm will take the Winchester town counsel reigns after longtime town counsel Wade Welch steps down at the end of the month, reports the Winchester Star.
The Winchester Board of Selectmen announced during its Dec. 19 meeting that Anderson Kreiger LLP will be Welch's replacement, and that the firm should be in place by mid-January. The star's report indicates that negotiations will begin as soon as possible.
The two other candidates for the position were Boston-based KP Law, P.C. and Blatman, Bobrowski, Mead, & Talerman LLC which has three offices in the region. Welch had served 27 years and is planning to retire.
