Blanking Hopkington in the opener 9-0, then burying Waltham 10-2 and later South Shore 7-1, the Sachems battled back from an early deficit against Wellesley in the championship game to win 5-3, with 4 goals by leading scorer Martin.
This comes on the heels of the Sachems’ superb play in the Pee Wee 3 State Tournament qualifying round. The C1s won their bracket and will represent District 9 in the Massachusetts State Tournament in Framingham March 12-14.

Asked about the current win streak, Asst. Coach Nick Porecha, 45, explained, ”we made some adjustments a few weeks back to tighten our play in the neutral zone and help with transitions and it’s really paying off.” When told Coach Porecha’s comments, Team Captain Derek Kimball, 12, emphatically agreed, saying, “we’re definitely passing better!”
