AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care Celebrates First Year Serving Burlington

Provider has cared for approx. 10,000 patients in Burlington and neighboring communities such as Bedford, Lexington, Woburn and Billerica

BURLINGTON, Mass.—November 19, 2015— Today AFC Doctors Express announced its first anniversary expanding access to quality health care for residents in Burlington and neighboring communities such as Bedford, Lexington, Woburn and Billerica. The Burlington urgent care center, which has served approximately 10,000 patients since its opening, is one of 12 clinics in the AFC Doctors Express Massachusetts network. As one of the largest urgent care organizations in the United States, AFC Doctors Express is staffed by board certified physicians and has earned exceptionally high patient satisfaction by providing quality care in a convenient, lower-cost setting.

“We are thrilled to reach this milestone and celebrate our first year as part of the Burlington community,” said Dave Adams, President of the independently-owned AFC Doctors Express Burlington. “We see patients of all ages and are particularly popular among young families looking for convenient, accessible and lower-cost health care. With people being increasingly busy they want to be seen right away and not wait for hours in busy emergency departments.”

Located at 90 Middlesex Turnpike, AFC Doctors Express offers urgent care seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. No appointments or referrals are necessary and most major insurance is accepted including Medicare and certain MassHealth plans. The average co-pay is $22, which is 1/5 the amount of an average emergency room co-pay. The average patient has a wait time of seven minutes and is seen by a physician and treated in less than 38 minutes. On-site services such as an X-ray, sutures, and lab work are available for non-critical conditions like strep throat, sprains, strains, lacerations and the flu.
