AmeriCorps Members Needed to Serve at Woburn Organizations

English At Large and YMCA International Learning Center are now recruiting AmeriCorps Members through the New American Integration Program

Local immigrants need your help to reach their career goals in the United States!

English At Large and the YMCA International Learning Center in Woburn provide English language instruction and job search assistance to hundreds of local immigrants each year. Each program has an opening for one AmeriCorps Member to serve for the 2018-2019 service year through the New American Integration Program (NAIP).

Through NAIP, up to 30 AmeriCorps members serve nearly 5,000 immigrants and refugees from over 106 different countries every year. Members are placed at immigrant- and refugee-serving organizations across the Commonwealth, serving residents of Greater Boston, Lynn, MetroWest, Central Massachusetts, New Bedford, and the Merrimack Valley.

Members commit to a full-time, full- or half-year service position while receiving a modest living allowance, health benefits, training, and an educational award at completion of service. High School or college graduates, age 17 or older, are encouraged to apply.

NAIP AmeriCorps Members assist immigrants and refugees gain economic stability and more fully participate in our society through learning English, applying for citizenship, job readiness training, and accessing community services. Through high quality training and experience, NAIP AmeriCorps members, many of whom are from immigrant and refugee communities themselves, become skilled and passionate service providers, educators, interpreters and leaders.

Applications to serve in the NAIP AmeriCorps Program are accepted on a rolling basis until all slots are filled.
