With Another Opening, Downtown Woburn May Be A Food-Drink Destination
The Vig Kitchen & Bar opened last month on Main Street, near another newcomer.
WOBURN, MA —Two months after a stylish cocktail bar expanded Woburn’s food-and-drink scene, another sophisticated establishment is adding its own flavor.
The Vig Kitchen & Bar, at 487-489 Main St., opened in March, according to WickedLocal.com.
Rather than the typical beers of many other sports bars, the Vig specializes in classic cocktails like the Old-Fashioned and creative concoctions such as a Pornstar Martini, made with vanilla vodka and passion-fruit liqueur.

"It is not a sports bar, but an elegant destination for those who appreciate the art of the game," the website reads.
The Vig also has a casual menu of apps, burgers, mussels and pizza.

Nearby, another eatery and drinkery has opened.
The Down Low is a retro, Rat Pack-era cocktail bar in the basement of a pizzeria and burger joint, BrickYard.
The underground offshoot, which launched in January, says online that its vibe “hits somewhere between a backroom supper club and a midnight jam session.”
Like the Vig, the Down Low focuses on high-end drinks but offers a menu of casual, popular food dishes.
The Down Low is at 371 Main St., so the two new food-and-drink establishments are within a five-minute walk of each other.

The Vig's name is a reference to the money, known as vigorish, that a sports bookmaker gets for taking a wager.
