March 12 – At 7:33 p.m., Todd Michael Jensen, 40, of 305 Lexington St., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer and assault. According to police, officers were called to Stop and Shop on Elm Street for a report of a man causing a disturbance. Police found Jensen heavily intoxicated and yelling and swearing at people outside the store. When police tried to speak with him, he ran into traffic on Elm Street and onto the traffic island on Sylvan Road. From the island, police said, Jensen continued to yell at passing cars. Police said Jensen then ran across the parking lot of the Baldwin Green and was yelling at the crowd that gathered. Using a cruiser spotlight to distract Jensen, officers were able to cuff his hands. Police said Jensen “became enraged and began spitting at us and trying again to kick us.” According to police, Jensen resisted during the booking process by “yelling, swearing and threatening all present.” In his cell, Jensen lunged at a police officer, whose back was turned as he was leaving the cell, and then hit a second officer in the chest. This is the sixth documented incident between Jensen and the police in the last month.
