POLICE LOG: Man Caught Looking in Windows

March 20 – At 8:55 p.m., police received a report of a man looking in windows on Manning Street. According to police, a resident approached an officer during routine patrol and said a white male, about 60 years old with a grey beard, was walking through yards and looking in windows. Police said, the man was also seen picking up toys in a yard. When he was approached, the man left and went into another yard. Neighbors saw the man leave in a green minivan, said police.

March 20 –
At 7:49 a.m., a Connecticut man reported his truck damaged and broken-into while parked at the Comfort Inn on Hill Street. According to police, the truck’s window was smashed and several items belonging to a Connecticut company were stolen. Police viewed surveillance footage of the area and observed a suspect entering the vehicle and taking the items. Police said the video is not enhanced enough to positively identify the suspect, but he appeared to be a white male, medium building, about 5-foot 6-inches to 5-foot 10-inches tall, wearing a white baseball cap.
At 9:19 a.m., Citizens Bank employees reported possible suspicious activity in the Montvale Avenue bank’s parking lot. According to police, employees noticed a black van parked in the lot, angled toward the front door of the bank. Employees told police the occupants of the van left “abruptly.”
At 11:31 a.m., Angelo G. Pereira, 25, of 42 Prospect St., was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, officers received a report of an unwanted party on Country Club Road. Police responded and learned that a business had obtained a no-trespass order against Pereira, but it had not been served yet. Police found Pereira driving in the area of Horn Pond, where he was stopped and taken into custody for unlicensed operation. During booking, police issued the no-trespass order to Pereira.
At 11:45 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the Woburn Police Station lobby to speak to a Woburn man about threats. According to police, the man said his wife is currently in North Carolina and saying “bad things” about him on Facebook. The man also told police that his wife has a credit card that she uses with his name on it. Police advised the man to seek a complaint in court.
At 2:32 p.m., police responded to a three-car accident at 880 Main Street. According to police, an 87-year-old driver struck a vehicle waiting to pull into the parking lot, then collided with the third car driving in the opposite direction. One person reported minor injuries and was treated on scene.
At 3:01 p.m., police were dispatched to Webster Avenue for a reported fight between neighbors. Police said a woman confronted another woman, calling the woman vulgar names. According to police, the original argument between the two women began four months ago over “stolen cake between their children.” Police spoke to both women and advised them to steer clear of each other.
At 4:14 p.m., an Alfred Street resident reported her home broken into. According to police, the woman told officers she had gone out for a jog and returned home about 20 minutes later. Police observed that a door to the residence had been pried open. The woman said some cash was taken from the home.
At 4:36 p.m., a Maine woman reported her car damaged while it was parked in a hotel parking lot.
At 8:52 p.m., a Main Street man reported threats made by an acquaintance. According to police, the victim said a man he knows through a friend rode by his house several times on his bicycle, yelling, “I’m going to kill you.” Police explained how to obtain a restraining order to the victim.
At 9:49 p.m., police responded to a possible disturbance on Mill Street. According to police, everything was fine in the apartment.
March 21 –
At 3:44 a.m., police responded to a Library Place home for a “sudden death.” Police and fire personnel reported that an elderly man had died of natural causes while sleeping.
