Bickford's Serves Up a Hearty Meal Every Time

Overview: is a restaurant chain with locations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We are lucky to have two in our vicinity; one on Montvale Avenue in Woburn, on the Stoneham line, and one in Burlington on Cambridge Street. Definitely a local favorite, Woburnites flock here to indulge is some good grub. It’s not uncommon to find Bickford’s packed with folks hungry for some Sunday Brunch.

Décor: With lots of dark wood, big comfy booths and various dining areas, Bickford’s feels warm and welcoming. It’s always buzzing with activity. 

Breakfast: Bring your appetite because Bickford’s has some hearty breakfast plates. They serve up pancakes, French toast, waffles, omelettes, steak and eggs and other breakfast delights daily. On the weekends, you can indulge in the breakfast buffet available at the Woburn location. You can get breakfast at any time of day so if you want a stack of their strawberry supreme, Big Apple or blueberry pancakes in the evening it’s no problem. We highly recommend their Southwestern Scramble, which is eggs scrambled with ham, onions and peppers, topped with salsa and shredded cheese and served with a grilled corn muffin.

Sides: Are you really hungry? Add some oatmeal, bacon, sausage, ham or home fries to your breakfast. They also have bagels with cream cheese (or butter or jam) and fruit cups.

Appetizers: Start off your lunch or dinner with a cup of New England Clam Chowder, Chili topped with cheddar cheese and red onion or their soup of the day. Bickford’s also serves shrimp cocktail, fried clams, buffalo wings, homemade potato chips, fries, onion rings, house and Caesar salads as well as potato skins.

Entrees: Lunch includes a variety of sandwiches and burgers. We highly recommend their Turkey Club sandwich, which is stacked with thick cut roast turkey and served with a side of fries. They also have chicken, pepper and onion rolls, tuna or pastrami melts, grilled cheese, BLTs, burgers, and an open faced turkey sandwich served with gravy and cranberry sauce. For dinner, why not try one of their full loaded salads including Turkey or Lobster Cobb, Chicken Caesar, Turkey Club, Grilled Chicken, etc. Their dinner plates include standard Fisherman’s platters filled with freshly fried seafood, Pot Roast, strip steak, sirloin tips, baked haddock, grilled chicken and lobster pie. It’s all enough to make your mouth water before your meal arrives!

Beverages: The Woburn location has full liquor available, whereas other locations, such as the Burlington one, serve only beer and wine. Have your breakfast with a hot cup of coffee or tea. They also serve both iced. In addition, they have a variety of juices and sodas as well as lemonade, hot chocolate and milk.
