Candidate Holds Large Lead In 2026 Woburn State House Primary

Voters headed to the polls Tuesday to weigh in on several races.

WOBURN, MA — State Rep. Richard M. Haggerty held a 51-point lead for the Democratic nomination in the 30th Middlesex state House District in Tuesday's Massachusetts primary, according to an unofficial tally from the AP. As of Wednesday morning, 99% of the vote had been counted.

Jadon Wilson also competed for the nomination. No Republican candidate appeared on the primary ballot for the district.

The 30th Middlesex race appeared on ballots in most of Woburn, covering Ward 1 Precinct 2A and Wards 2 through 6.

In other races, Sen. Ed Markey defeated U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton for the Democratic nomination. On the Republican side, Mike Minogue topped for Brian Shortsleeve for the nomination for governor.
