No, it’s not St. Patrick’s Day, but it is time to get your Irish on! Irish Whispa will be playing a free concert on Friday, August 7 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, courtesy of sponsor, McCue Garden Center, who will be serving freshly cooked corn on the cob to the crowd! Join us at the beautiful outdoor venue of Horn Pond.
Irish Whispa is a Boston area based band who is immersed in Irish music and culture. Striving to keep traditional Irish ballads alive, Irish Whispa is comprised of Brien Connolly, on guitar and lead vocals, Katie Foley, on fiddle and vocals, Kevin Shea, on guitar, banjo and vocals and Bob Fowkes on bouzuki, vocals and bass and Rob Anderson on bass, harmonica and pipes. Their style is influenced by the Dubliners, Wolfetones, Pogues, Irish Rovers, Clancy Brothers, Christy Moore, & many others. The Horn Pond Summer Concerts are FREE to the community thanks to our generous local businesses sponsors. Bring the whole family down to Ice House Park at Horn Pond and enjoy a night under the stars! Ice House Park is the name of the flat grassy area that runs along Sturgis Street. For your comfort and enjoyment, please remember to bring folding chairs, blankets and insect repellant.
